An evening of food, networking and jazz was had by Chamber of Commerce members and friends at Shawn's Piano with a special performance by renouned Connecticut jazz pianist Lee Callahan.

Shawn Hoar to Speak at Annual Piano Technicians Guild Convention

Shawn Hoar will speak at this year's annual PTG Convention in Aneheim, California. Covering a wide range of tools and technologies, Shawn will unveil some of the techniques that have helped him become one of the most successful piano restorers in the country. Shawn Hoar to speak at NEECSO on RESTORATION FROM A TO Z

Shawn Hoar, owner of Shawn's Piano, and one of the country's formost experts on piano restoration will speak at this year's NEECSO conference in Nashua, New Hampshire. Attendees can follow a "soup to nuts" restoration of a vintage Steinway grand as Shawn walks through the process in his rebuilding shop. Included will be a plethora of tools, technology, jigs, fixtures, and cabinet restoration. For more information on the conference, visit the Piano Technicians Guild web site.

Shawn's Piano Hosts Young Artists Piano Competition

We are delighted to be hosting the CSMTA Young Artists Piano Competition. This competition gives young, talented pianists the chance to perform in front of a select panel of judges. The repertoire is one complete Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, which includes a half hour solo program containing two additionally contrasting styles. The winners will be announced after a short reception. The Gold Medalist will be awarded $1500, a performance with I Maestri and solo recital opportunities. Performances start at 4PM and are open to the public.
